- Cinnamon – Used as a seasoning in various Indian curries, cinnamon contains anti-viral, antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to soothe the membrane lining of the sinuses and also decreases the inflammation. Just mix 2 teaspoons of cinnamon powder with equal amount of water and apply this paste on your forehead. It helps to clear a blocked nose instantly.Onion – Onion has a high content of sulfur and thus it helps to get relief from sinusitis. It contains quercetin, which is a chemical compound and this is how onion gets anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties. Onion helps to clear the sinuses. The easiest way to clear the sinuses with onion is to chop a few onions and let your eyes and nose water. The nasal passages get cleared instantly. You can also boil some water and add sliced onions to it. Now inhale the steam from this water and clear your sinuses.
